In 2020 and 21, lockdown turned our music industry on its head. It gave us problems for sure, but also opportunities - a chance to pause, to take stock, to apply our creativity more freely, to do things differently. So, along with some Manchester session string players and recording studio The Wood Rooms, I approached 5 Manchester artists and asked to work with each of them to create string orchestra arrangements of their songs. The result is collaborations that, without the turmoil of the last year, might never had happened.
